As an engineer at Paystack, you will be at the forefront of our engineering team, driving the development and delivery of high-impact projects. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and reliable payment solutions. Your contribution will be crucial in shaping the technical direction of the company and mentoring other engineers to achieve their full potential.
Job Responsibility:
Development, deployment & maintenance of complex software systems and services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other technical issues
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team
Participate in the hiring process to attract and retain top engineering talent
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of contributing to successful projects
Expertise in one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, Python, or Go. We have a preference for Typescript. However, proficiency in any C-style language is a valid consideration
Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript) and frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js)
Experience with AWS and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and data structures
Proven experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Nice to have:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field might be beneficial but not required
Experience in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS)
Experience with machine learning and data analytics
