Job Responsibility:

  • You’ll play a key role as a senior individual contributor, taking ownership of building and evolving a modern, cloud-based product
  • write high-quality, maintainable code across the stack while setting a strong example for engineering standards and best practices
  • work closely with product and leadership to translate business priorities into clear, deliverable technical plans, making balanced decisions around speed, quality and risk
  • improving how software is delivered - identifying bottlenecks and introducing better ways of working, including thoughtful use of automation and AI-assisted development tools
  • help shape engineering practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD and architecture
  • step in on more complex technical challenges, whether that’s performance, scalability or system design
  • contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience as a software developer
  • Backend experience with either Java or Kotlin
  • Solid understanding of frontend development (e.g. react) and experience building and maintaining production grade user facing applications
  • Databases expreince such as postgresql or mongodb in scalable, real-world environments
  • AWS experience
  • familiarity with containerisation and infrastructure as code (e.g. docker, terraform)
  • experience designing and maintaining ci/cd pipelines and owning services through the full delivery lifecycle
  • Practical use of AI assisted development tools or automation to improve engineering workflows, with an understanding of associated risks (e.g. security, maintainability)
  • Worked in a regulatory industry
