Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining high-scale, performance-critical services using Node.js. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern software architecture, database management, and deployment practices, with a strong commitment to quality and security. You will work for a technology company building production-grade platforms for real-time training, simulation, and collaborative systems. This project brings deep experience in large-scale, multi-user backend systems and cloud-based infrastructure developed and operated in live environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Experience working on high-reliability or regulated systems, such as defense, banking, or other critical infrastructure
  • Diagnose, debug, and fix complex issues in real-time to ensure high system availability
  • Design and implement scalable APIs (OpenAPI) and data-serving systems that handle business logic and persistent storage
  • Implement observability practices, including structured logging, tracing, and metrics, to monitor system performance
  • Execute safe rollout and rollback strategies to ensure seamless updates with minimal user impact
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to team standards, and work cross-functionally to ensure operational readiness

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of developing backend systems within a professional engineering team
  • Strong, hands-on experience with the Node.js ecosystem is our primary requirement
  • Expertise in handling schema evolution, backward compatibility, and caching strategies
  • Deep familiarity with handling failure scenarios, including timeouts, retries, partial failures
  • Experience implementing background workers and message queues for asynchronous data flows
  • Proficiency in version control (Git), automated testing strategies, and CI/CD workflows

Nice to have:

  • Experience in high-reliability or regulated industries (Defense, FinTech, Banking)
  • Experience with AI data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, and integration)
  • A passion for the craft, evidenced by side projects or active technical reading
