Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Back-End PHP Laravel Developer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a developer with strong expertise in PHP and Laravel, who thrives in building scalable, high-performing back-end solutions. The position is fully remote, but candidates must be able to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure back-end solutions using PHP and Laravel
  • Design and optimize database structures, queries, and integrations (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless front-end and third-party system interactions
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the back-end stack to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Follow best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure high standards of performance and security
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in back-end development with PHP and Laravel
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and database optimization
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices is a plus
  • Proficiency in version control tools like Git/GitHub
  • Understanding of application security best practices
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while collaborating with a distributed team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of queueing systems (Redis, RabbitMQ)
  • Exposure to front-end technologies like Vue.js or React is a plus but not required
