Job Description

B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Location: RAF Shawbury, Shropshire. Contract: 6 Months. Rate: £80.26 Umbrella / £60.00 PAYE. Overview: A premium rate. A proven programme. A role with purpose. Morson Edge is recruiting for a B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to support a major rotary-wing operation at RAF Shawbury. Supporting one of the UK's most important military helicopter training programmes, this role offers the opportunity to work on a modern helicopter fleet within a highly professional aviation environment. With a combination of maintenance, certification, and operational support responsibilities, it provides varied and meaningful work alongside strong rates and a respected programme. Whether your background is military or civilian rotary aviation, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established operation where aircraft availability, safety, and engineering excellence remain the priority.

Job Responsibility

  • Certify maintenance and repair activities on rotary aircraft
  • carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections
  • perform fault diagnosis, repairs, modifications, and component replacement
  • complete maintenance on airframe, powerplant, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • replace avionic line replaceable units and perform associated serviceability testing
  • supervise maintenance fitters and certify completed work
  • ensure compliance with Part 145, Part M, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • assist with aircraft movements and day-to-day hangar operations
  • maintain accurate maintenance documentation and certification records
  • support safe and efficient aircraft operations at all times

Requirements

  • Part 66 B1.3 Licence
  • thorough knowledge of rotary aircraft engine and airframe systems
  • experience within aircraft maintenance and certification environments
  • strong understanding of aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements
  • ability to supervise maintenance activities and work independently when required
  • H135 and/or H145 experience (desirable)
  • military aviation experience (desirable)
  • knowledge of rotary training operations (desirable)
  • previous experience within Part 145 environments (desirable)
