B Pressure Welder $43 - $48 per hour - Calgary, AB Are you a Journeyman B Pressure Welder who takes pride in the geometry of a perfect fit-up and a flawless weld? Do you excel in a fast-paced shop environment using MIG roots and Flux-core capping on pipes ranging from 2" to 60"? Our client, a major manufacturer in Calgary's SE industrial sector, specializes in spooling, coating, and pressure piping for large-scale industrial projects. They are looking for a highly skilled B Pressure Welder to join their team. This is a Contract-to-Hire position, offering a foot in the door with a premier company that is currently expanding its facility and looking for long-term additions to its core team. Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Long-term career path) Location: Calgary, AB (SE Industrial) Schedule: Night Shift 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM Monday to Thursday (4x10) ... Environment: Fabrication Shop / Industrial Wage: $43.00 - $48.00 per hour + $3.00/hour Night Shift Premium

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform B Pressure welding on pipes ranging from 2" to 60" using MIG (GMAW) roots and Flux-core (FCAW) caps
  • Independently complete components fitting according to blueprints and technical specifications
  • Utilize rolling systems for welding and support projects from initial setup through to finishing
  • Maintain the integrity of seam and circ welds to meet strict industrial and safety standards
  • Work closely with the shop team to ensure production targets are met, assisting in other areas of the facility during work delays if needed

Requirements:

  • Valid Alberta B-Pressure Welding Ticket and Journeyman/Red Seal Certification is mandatory
  • Proven expertise in MIG roots and Flux-core capping
  • CWB tickets are a significant asset
  • 3+ years of experience performing your own fit-ups on various pipe diameters
  • Ability to pass a rigorous weld test (2 1/2" XS, GMAW root, Flux-core cap)
  • You must own your own CSA-approved steel-toe boots, welding helmet, and respirator
