The Azure Networking Engineer (L3) is a senior engineering role responsible for delivering high-quality remote technical support for enterprise customers operating complex Azure networking environments. This role focuses on designing, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing Azure networking services, ensuring service availability, security, and performance. Through proactive incident prevention, root-cause analysis, and structured resolution, you will restore and maintain services while ensuring zero missed SLA commitments.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and execute the support process, ensuring all Azure networking support requests are handled in accordance with established procedures and SLAs
Design, manage, and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), VWAN hubs, subnets, and VNet peering configurations
Configure and maintain Network Security Groups (NSGs), User Defined Routes (UDRs), and route tables
Manage and troubleshoot Azure DNS Zones, including record creation, name resolution issues, and hybrid DNS scenarios
Deploy, configure, and support Private Endpoints and Service Endpoints
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Traffic Manager, and Web Application Firewall (WAF)
Deploy and support Site-to-Site (S2S) and Point-to-Site (P2S) VPN solutions, including BGP-based configurations
Manage and operate Azure Firewall, including policies, rules, and logging
Support advanced Azure networking services such as ExpressRoute, CDN, and hybrid connectivity architectures
Deploy and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) and Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) with a networking focus
Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance using Azure Network Watcher, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics
Configure alerts, performance counters, and diagnostics across Azure resources
Analyze service records and metrics against agreed SLAs and initiate improvements where required
Perform advanced incident diagnosis, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across Azure networking layers
Escalate complex or unresolved incidents to vendors or internal teams and follow through until resolution
Maintain accurate and secure configuration data for all relevant Configuration Items (CIs)
Create, update, and maintain knowledge articles for Azure networking incident resolution
Collaborate closely with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to accelerate problem resolution
Continuously upgrade skills and maintain relevant Azure certifications
Requirements:
Strong working knowledge of Azure networking architecture and documentation
In-depth understanding of routing and connectivity concepts including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and hybrid cloud networking
Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale Azure networking environments
Strong analytical and structured troubleshooting skills
Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving ability
Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in global teams
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computing, or a related field
Microsoft Azure certifications, including: Fundamentals (AZ-900 or equivalent), Associate (AZ-104, AZ-700), Expert level (AZ-305 or equivalent preferred)
Networking certifications are a strong advantage (e.g. CCNP, JNCIS, equivalent)
Seasoned experience with Azure networking services in production environments
Proven experience providing remote L3 technical support to enterprise customers
Extensive experience in incident diagnosis and troubleshooting
Experience supporting hybrid cloud and enterprise networking architectures
Experience working in SLA-driven, ITIL-aligned service environments
