Job Description

We are seeking a highly accomplished and technical Azure Integration Developer for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a premier leadership and engineering capacity within the application integration stream, specializing in the design, construction, and deployment of complex, technology-enabled middleware solutions. As a principal integration lead, you will bridge the gap between distributed legacy infrastructures, third-party vendor systems, and cloud-native digital environments. Operating within a hybrid work model, you will translate abstract business needs into highly scalable data transfer pathways, establish robust CI/CD pipeline automation, and enforce strict technical, functional, and security standards to ensure the seamless exchange of confidential enterprise data.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality application and integration components based on enterprise standards and industry best practices.
  • Formulate and implement logical data models and processing models by determining data requirements, normalization rules, and distribution structures.
  • Create and update application schemas, wrappers, middleware adapters, and functional interfaces utilizing modern software solution frameworks.
  • Research integration best practices and emerging design patterns to continuously introduce innovative, creative, and cost-effective digital solutions.
  • Provide necessary after-hours support for applications, integration components, and middleware environments to maintain absolute operational excellence.
  • Interact with cross-functional business units, third-party vendors, and technical infrastructure teams to gather detailed requirements for software onboarding.
  • Design secure, encrypted data synchronization workflows to seamlessly transfer confidential data between core repositories and external service providers.
  • Conduct and participate in rigorous technical design walkthroughs, system specifications reviews, and structured peer code reviews.
  • Manage multi-environment deployment activities, including coordinating software installations, preparing clear code-drop release notes, and organizing implementation activities.
  • Collaborate with project support clusters to coordinate, execute, and document System Integration Testing (SIT) activities and detailed test scenarios.
  • Engineer, modify, and optimize robust automated deployment pipelines to enable continuous delivery across cloud and on-premise staging environments.
  • Lead comprehensive root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting sessions to isolate, communicate, and resolve complex software and connectivity issues.
  • Participate actively in defect triage meetings, report project milestones to delivery managers, and provide structured technical documentation to facilitate team knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • Professional QA & Dev Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of progressive, hands-on software development experience operating as a dedicated Integration Developer or Tech Lead within enterprise environments.
  • Azure Integration Stack Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated technical experience designing, configuring, and maintaining solutions utilizing the Microsoft Azure Integration Services stack of tools.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Development Depth: 7+ years of comprehensive experience running cloud development practices alongside 7+ years of specialized integration design across a wide range of distributed systems.
  • Modern Containerization & Microservices: 5+ years of deep working knowledge with containerized deployment layers, microservices architectures, and associated frameworks including Kubernetes, Docker, Azure services, and Spring Boot.
  • Legacy Middleware Frameworks: 5+ years of hands-on platform design, development, and maintenance experience operating within IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) platforms.
  • Automated CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: 5+ years of working experience implementing and configuring delivery automation tools, specifically GitHub Actions, BitBucket, Azure DevOps, and APIOps frameworks.
  • Release & Lifecycle Management: 5+ years of proven success leading deployment activities, executing system configurations, drafting release documentation, and managing software lifecycles across Agile (Scrum or Kanban) delivery models.
  • Consultative Articulation: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with polished ease when discussing development approaches, technical specifications, and system architectural alignments with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving Acumen: Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities to execute root cause analysis and propose implementable solutions under tight deployment windows.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities who functions effectively inside multidisciplinary squads.
