As AWS Cloud Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliable delivery of NAVBLUE solutions. You will leverage your platform expertise, contribute to automation initiatives, and play a key role in monitoring and resolving failure events. This is an exciting opportunity to define, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Job Responsibility:
Architect and Implement: Design, implement, and manage robust and scalable cloud-based infrastructure within AWS
Collaborate and Guide: Work closely with our Software Factory's Solution Architects to seamlessly transition solutions from development to in-support phases. This includes fostering a hosting network, representing the Hosting Group in various "Trains" (Agile teams), and coordinating technical architecture decisions related to hosting
Ensure Reliability: Champion the reliability of our systems through platform expertise, proactive monitoring, and efficient resolution of any issues that arise
Automate Everything: Drive automation, including Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management, to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
Optimize Costs: Monitor and report on hosting costs, actively defining and tracking cost optimization actions with stakeholders
Champion Best Practices: Promote and ensure the appropriate use of cloud operational best practices, maintaining security compliance and preventing cost overruns
Innovate and Explore: Lead technological watch, managing our Hosting Tech Radar, investigating new AWS offerings, and experimenting with emerging solutions to host NAVBLUE's future innovations
Problem Solve: Participate in root cause investigations, recommending and implementing permanent, long-term fixes to complex issues
Empower Development: Deliver a resilient and highly-scalable platform for global application development, with a strong focus on continuous delivery and operational insight
Consult and Modernize: Provide expert consultation on converting existing legacy applications to run on our cutting-edge deployment platforms
Requirements:
Deep Public-Cloud Expertise: Solid experience (3+ years) in designing and building secure solutions within Public-Cloud (preferably AWS)
Automation Prowess: Proven experience in scripting and automating infrastructure, reducing manual toil. (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)
Public-Cloud Certification: At least one Public-Cloud Associate Certification is required
additional certifications are a significant asset. (AWS Solution Architect Associate - or similar)
Networking Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of networking principles for enterprise environments
Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of issues and recommend effective, long-term solutions
Troubleshooting Excellence: Proven ability to perform complex troubleshooting in Public-CLoud environments and provide expert guidance to other teams
Communication & Collaboration: A proactive, confident self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective collaboration across teams
Additional Skills (an asset): Working knowledge of networking, shell scripting, databases, DNS, XML
