We are seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Process Engineer to join our Business Operations Shared Services (BOSS) team. This role is designed for a professional who can independently lead and execute complex, high-impact projects across BOSS without extensive oversight. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth disciplinary knowledge in process engineering, a proven track record of successful project execution, acute risk awareness, and demonstrated ability to navigate and deliver projects effectively across diverse geographies. This individual will be a critical contributor to the continuous improvement culture, influencing decisions and driving services in their area of specialization, and is expected to consistently operate as a very high-performing individual.
Job Responsibility:
Apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflows within BOSS
Lead and execute complex, multi-organizational projects ensuring processes and methodologies are effective and supportive, requiring minimal hand-holding
Integrate subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area
Evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project and operational risks
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Significantly impact project size, scope, and geographical execution by influencing decisions through advice, counsel, and facilitating services
Successfully plan, manage, and execute projects across diverse geographical locations, accounting for local operational nuances and regulatory environments
Maintain and improve recurring and ad-hoc savings reporting per project/program and/or by owner
Seamlessly integrate benefit data from multiple sources across projects, process owners, and finance
Be accountable for end-to-end capacity/financial impact analysis for efficiency-related initiatives, including return on investment estimates
Align with a project benefit tracking process to link procedures, project scope, and financial accuracy
Analyze and interpret data from metrics and reports, identify trends, provide insights, and recommend key actions, including 'what if' scenarios
Develop and deliver internal metrics, identifying trends and insights for improvement of operational efficiency
Leverage full systems capability to create impactful visual representations of metrics
Support a continuous improvement culture, taking a leadership role in creating and driving solutions
Collaborate with members of other functional teams to develop a shared understanding of operational performance drivers and key metrics
Requirements:
5-8 years of experience in process engineering, financial planning and analysis, or re-engineering projects
Proven experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, business process re-engineering) is preferred
Demonstrated success in leading and executing complex projects from start to finish, requiring minimal supervision
Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions
Experience working within global and virtual teams, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse teams and execute initiatives across multiple locations and geographies
Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to filter, prioritize, and validate complex material from multiple sources, analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and solve problems effectively
Strong verbal and written communication and diplomacy skills, with an ability to articulate complex information, escalate issues to management, and build consensus
A consistent track record of exceeding performance expectations, demonstrating strong initiative, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to challenges
Must be a self-starter with the ability to set high standards of deliverables and a highly developed attention to detail
Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with minimal or offsite supervision and the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge of the financial services industry
