Job Responsibility:

  • Provide high‑quality credit analysis and thought leadership on banks and non‑bank financial institutions in the Middle East to support accurate ratings and investor confidence
  • Develop and maintain in‑depth knowledge of assigned banks and financial systems, acting as a subject matter expert for the region
  • Perform comprehensive fundamental credit analysis and present findings effectively at rating committees with a high degree of autonomy
  • Write high‑quality, insightful research on credit trends, individual issuers, and banking systems, contributing to Moody’s analytical leadership
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with senior management at rated financial institutions and engage effectively with investors
  • Respond to investor and issuer inquiries, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with published credit opinions
  • Enhance Moody’s franchise by participating in conferences, outreach activities, and other visibility initiatives across EMEA
  • Coach, review, and develop Ratings Associates, providing guidance on analysis quality and professional development

Requirements:

  • Substantial credit and risk assessment experience gained within a financial institution, asset manager, public accounting firm, or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of Middle East banking and non‑bank financial institution credit markets, including regulatory and operating environments
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and assess credit risk drivers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clearly at rating committees and engage credibly with senior stakeholders
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently in a high‑profile environment
  • Fluency in English required
  • Arabic or French preferred
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region
  • Curiosity and working knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts, with interest in applying AI tools responsibly to improve analytical efficiency and processes
  • Strong academic background at least equivalent to MSc/MBA in relevant areas
  • CIMA /ACCA/CFA professional qualification would be highly beneficial
