Job Description:

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. The role involves managing financial crime risk (FC Risk), aligning HSBC’s practices with changing regulatory standards, and supporting business globally. Responsibilities include proactive identification of FC risk changes, policy implementation, and stakeholder collaboration to enhance financial crime controls.

Job Responsibility:

Proactive approach to the identification of FC risk change and potential impacts
Support product reviews which are presented at relevant governance forums
Identify FC Risks in the relevant business and provide necessary assessments and solutions, including establish and implement strategic policies which ensure exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately
Work closely with relevant stakeholders within HBUK to provide expertise and support on all financial crime related matters
Support TP Projects SME support (Policy / Procedure, Transaction Monitoring, Analytics, Training etc.)
Drive consistency in messaging throughout the organization and building a culture of transparency between FC and 1LOD
Focus on aligning the HSBC operating practices with changes in Global FC Standards and regulatory risk, and ensure that the FC Risk Framework remains appropriate
Resolve any/all identified issues promptly, and escalate concerns to management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns
Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators
Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
Clearly identify FC risks and provide necessary analysis, advice, solutions and support
Interpret regulatory developments and advise on its impact to business, provision of practical and compliant solutions
Deal with Senior Management and Business in a professional and proactive manner.

Requirements:

The jobholder must have an overall work experience of 5-10 years in the banking / financial services industry
Proficient knowledge of Payment transparency and associated controls
Proficient knowledge of Transactional Products (TP) and associated risks in the financial services industry
Preferably an understanding of ISO20022 developments within the payments industry
Strong working experience of how TP control mitigates FC Risk and the various underpinning activities
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally
Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Compliance and Business globally
Ability to work independently on distinct tasks, escalating as appropriate.
