Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Avionics Integration Engineer, Journeyman located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. The Avionics Integration Engineer, will provide integration support to the F-15 Division. The F-15 Division is responsible for management and professional services, engineering and technical services, and studies, analyses and evaluations to accomplish the unit’s mission to design, develop, integrate, test, produce, deploy, modernize, sustain and support U.S. and FMS F-15 fighter aircraft weapon systems and subsystems.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as an avionics engineer with emphasis in integration of radar and EW sensors
Develop/review/update program documentation for avionics engineering requirements
Assist in drafting systems/subsystem specifications and engineering documents
Be responsible for development and test of program system hardware and software and its integration
Attend technical reviews and provide technical advice
Review system specific test plans and participate in testing
Support and conduct performance, cost, life-cycle, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, risk, and scheduling trade-off studies
Support hardware/software development and related system ground and flight test activities
Support and conduct systems analyses
Perform analyses of avionics and subsystems
Accomplish data processing including centroiding, tracker, timing, data loading, software
Accomplish MS&A of radar, targets, and clutter/weather
testing and evaluation of radar system performance
Support Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements/testing/certification and spectrum management
Use knowledge of Communication Navigation Surveillance/ Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements
Perform technical activities associated with radar waveforms and signal and data processing techniques
Apply understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems, software, and/or airborne or ground systems avionics
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience
ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering
DoD Secret clearance
Ability to work independently and apply proper procedures and processes
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
Knowledge of avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification methods, sustainment, Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A), T&E, and airworthiness certification
Knowledge of radar theory and principles
Understanding of radar design, development, and implementation process
