Aviation Manager for Atrium Health MedCenter and AirCare Charlotte. Responsible for safety leadership, operational excellence, data-driven strategy, fleet coordination, growth planning, and continuous improvement in air medical transport services.
Job Responsibility:
Champion best practices in aviation safety and mission readiness
Build strong relationships with MedCenter Air, AirCare and all aviation personnel while prioritizing program-wide efficiency
Analyze operational data to identify gaps and develop meaningful metrics
Drive standardization of airframes across programs to enhance cross-functional compatibility
Support senior leadership in evaluating and acquiring aviation assets, equipment, and real estate
Assess new base opportunities and reevaluate current locations
Collaborate with communications center leadership to refine aircraft utilization processes
Maintain relationships with neighboring programs and facilities to improve helipad safety
Advise and assist in the negotiation of aviation and maintenance agreements
Lead process improvement initiatives and quality assurance efforts
Participate in MedCenter Air Operator's Association and other relevant industry associations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Must have certification as FAA Pilot or Maintenance certification, CMTE, or MTSP-C
Previous work for an air medical Part 135 operator (rotor-wing or fixed-wing)
roles may include leadership, pilot, mechanic, or clinician
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in medical transportation system
2 years of management experience
Knowledge of rotor-wing and fixed-wing operations required
Ability to work across, and provide leadership to, disciplines involved in air medical transport, including clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments
Nice to have:
Master’s Degree preferred
Additional certifications in related field preferred
