Kansas State University's Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina seeks a dedicated Aviation Maintenance Laboratory Technician to provide valuable support to Aviation Maintenance Program faculty and students. K-State Salina's aviation maintenance program produces students who will become aerospace industry leaders in the field of aviation in areas such as advanced aviation sustainment systems, aftermarket and business sales, safety and quality. The program uses a practical learning environment and a laboratory setting to focus on the application of aviation science and technology by understanding how to service, support, inspect, maintain and operate all different types of aircraft and propulsion systems.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the aviation maintenance program in day-to-day operations
Maintaining shop and ground support equipment
building aviation-related training aids
Maintaining Monitor tool room operations and organizing of equipment, tooling, and projects
Providing supplemental teaching in appropriate situations
Assisting in maintaining a clean, organized educational environment—arranging equipment, tables, cabinets, and aircraft to optimize educational experiences
Performing maintenance on aircraft and equipment in the educational environment and assisting in continuity of long-term, ongoing enhancement projects

Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and three years of relevant experience in aviation maintenance or a related field, including experience that meets FAA minimum requirements (e.g., A&P certification or equivalent industry experience)
Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs and use ladders, work stands, lifts, etc.
Must not have any conditions that preclude certification of aircraft run/taxi of aircraft and vehicles
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Nice to have:
Bachelors Degree in aviation-related discipline
Masters degree in aviation or related field
Current or previous Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME)
Inspection Authorization (IA)
Collegiate level Part 147 teaching experience
Avionics experience
Previous airline, corporate, military aircraft maintenance experience
Proficient computer skills such as MSOffice, CAD, ATP Navigator/ATP Hub, or other aviation-related software experiences
Desire to work with and prepare many college students to become future aviation professionals
