As ACESGroup continues to expand its aviation security footprint, we are seeking an Aviation Lead – Trainer and Assessor to take ownership of our aviation training capability and play a critical role in shaping the next generation of aviation security professionals. This is a newly established leadership role with genuine influence — ideal for an experienced aviation security professional ready to step into a senior training, standards, and compliance position with real impact.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the delivery and assessment of Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20325) programs
Take ownership of Transport Security Protection (TSP) training, from induction through to operational readiness
Train, assess, mentor, and support Aviation Protection Officers (APOs) across passenger, baggage, and cargo screening functions
Ensure all aviation training delivery and assessment complies with the Aviation Transport Security regulations, ASQA standards, and RTO requirements
Deliver face-to-face, online, and hybrid training and assessment across aviation environments
Oversee learner progression, competency outcomes, assessment integrity, and training readiness
Maintain accurate and compliant training records, including learner progression and competency evidence within the Learning Management System (LMS)
Conduct training needs analysis in collaboration with Aviation Operations and Learning & Development teams
Contribute to course development, validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities
Support RTO compliance, audits, documentation, and regulatory engagement
Deliver training onsite at airports, cargo facilities, and ACESGroup training locations
Act as a subject-matter expert and professional role model, embedding aviation security standards, culture, and professionalism
Requirements:
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
AVI20325 – Certificate II in Transport Security Protection, or equivalent experience
3–5+ years’ experience in aviation security (with strong operational knowledge)
Proven ability to train, coach and support learners in both face-to-face and online settings
Current or eligible ASIC
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
Nice to have:
Certificate II or III in Security Operations
Experience supporting RTO audits, validation, or compliance activities
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Previous involvement in aviation training program development or standardisation
