Job Description
Central Management Services Division of Vehicles is looking for a candidate who is highly motivated and professional to serve as an Automotive Parts Warehouser. This position will operate the automotive parts warehouse including ordering, purchasing and receiving purchases. We invite all qualified applicants interested in assisting the Division of Vehicles as we serve the State of Illinois to apply for the position of Automotive Parts Warehouser.
Job Responsibility
Operates the automotive garage parts issue rooms or storerooms and/or warehouse at the Dixon Garage
Receives, stores, issues, and prepares for shipping automotive and vehicular parts
Verifies quantity and condition of automotive items received meet Procurement Services Division master contract specifications per contract
Maintains inventory
Prepares, keyboards, compiles, and composes a variety of documents, include correspondence, memorandums and reports that derive from vendor invoices, work orders and receiving reports
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school or completion of an approved training program
Requires two (2) years of experience in the keeping of automotive or vehicular stores and records, or as an automotive mechanic.
Nice to have
Two (2) years of professional experience working with storeroom and warehouse methods, procedures, and inventory record keeping and controls specific to automotive and vehicular parts
Two (2) years of professional experience with procurement, requisitioning, and shipment procedures that are specific to automotive and vehicular parts
Two (2) years of professional experience following automotive and warehouse safety rules and regulations
Two (2) years of professional experience identifying automotive and vehicular parts visually or from mechanic’s oral descriptions
Two (2) years of professional experience preparing and maintaining stock records, reports, and inventories
Two (2) years of professional experience using automated computer systems and applications such as but not limited to, Fleet, Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Two (2) years of professional experience operating forklift and pallet jacks.
