Job Description

Primary Connect is the most extensive food and retail supply chain network in Australia and New Zealand. Construction is now well underway for our new Sydney Chilled and Fresh Distribution Center (SC&F). Located in Eastern Creek NSW SC&F is the latest distribution centre being added to the Primary Connect Network. The 75,000sqm multi-story facility will transform our chilled and fresh operations in Sydney, ensuring we deliver exceptional freshness, quality and range to our customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all elements of automation system performance, focusing on uptime, reliability and functional improvements to support our store service ambitions
  • Lead a specialised team fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement localised optimisation strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Oversee critical relationships with third-party service providers and automation suppliers to ensure systems meet capacity and throughput requirements during the site's launch
  • Be heavily involved in system testing, operational readiness and the development of SOPs and work instructions
  • Lead a brand new site launch through commissioning and operational readiness
  • Build and mentor a high performing team from the ground up in a new facility

Requirements

  • Strong background in FMCG, Distribution, manufacturing, or retail industries
  • Specific experience in equipment reliability and maintenance management
  • Direct exposure to automated systems and suppliers
  • Understanding of process flow management, material flows, and system logic
  • Effective leader of technical roles, capable of building productive teams and managing change within a complex, matrix environment
  • Lead with a safety-first mindset, ensuring all activities comply with established Supply Chain Safety Management procedures
