As an Automation Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting automated solutions that enhance Service Stream’s operational efficiency and system performance. You will take end to end ownership of automation workflows—delivering reliable, scalable, and well governed solutions that align with business needs and technical standards. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will help drive optimisation, integration, and continuous improvement initiatives within our automation capability.
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop, test, and deploy automation workflows, scripts, and system integrations across approved automation platforms
Manage full lifecycle ownership of automation solutions, including build, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support
Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and communicate progress and risks
Implement robust system integrations using REST APIs and best‑practice data exchange patterns
Optimise automation workflows for reliability, maintainability, reusability, and performance
Investigate and resolve incidents, defects, and enhancement requests, including performing impact assessments
Produce and maintain high‑quality documentation in line with governance, standards, and delivery frameworks
Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior developers within the Automation Team
Requirements:
Must be an Australian Citizen
Proven hands‑on experience across automation platforms such as Safe Software FME and Microsoft Power Automate
Strong scripting capability in Python, SQL, and PowerShell
Experience integrating systems using REST APIs and reusable integration components
Confident use of Git or similar version control tools, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments
Tertiary qualification in science, mathematics, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Nice to have:
Relevant certifications highly regarded, including: FME Certified Professional
Power Platform Developer Associate
Experience applying Agile and DevOps methodologies
