Manages the content of all Facility master drawing files. Utilizes and maintains Facilities CAD standards. Manages furniture inventory, Assist department management as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Maintains Facilities CAD master files to ensure they are current and accurate
Routinely updates Facilities drawings, including: architectural backgrounds, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, plant equipment, warehouse racking, fire extinguisher maps, building evacuation maps and emergency maps
Provides CAD space planning and furniture layout support for the campus
Assists Project Manager with space planning and furniture layouts
Responsible for producing construction documents, updating square footage reports, and distributing drawings to consultants, engineers, contractors, document control and business function staff
Assists with minor coordination tasks for small-scale jobs, such as communicating with drawing intent to contractors, confirming scope alignment, and ensuring readiness for job start-up
Capable of making timely drawing updates during construction
Maintains and serves as CAD standards administrator including: document management process, standard major/minor disciplines, layering conventions, electronic file transfers, drawing directory structure, electronic deliverables, CAD block library
Maintains furniture inventory, coordinates and verifies furniture for installation projects
Verifies proper utilities for all installations and updates cad drawings with as builds and/or redlines
Partners with internal customers to develop scope, specifications, and requirements for best layout options
Requires a strong understanding of architectural design principles to produce drawing sets that meet permitting requirements and support ongoing facility operations
Assists Facilities Project Manager with all drawings and project documentation ensures files are accessible and retrievable through the electronic file database and the physical flat file
Lends assistance in conducting searches for drawings contained within the Facilities CAD system
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
3 – 5 years CAD experience within an Engineering or Architectural firm, or a durable goods manufacturing company preferred
Previous shop floor experience is extremely helpful
A willingness to pursue continuing educational development activities within the area of CAD system is required
Solid knowledge of Autodesk CAD 2000-2023
Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering terminology as related to construction
Solid knowledge and experience working with the CAD system and Microsoft Office Suite
Basic knowledge of office space planning concepts and practices
Solid Skill to assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on schedules and deadlines
Basic Skill to think strategically and present ideas and initiate those ideas into action that may improve upon system processes
Basic ability to assist with light coordination tasks, including communicating drawing details to contractors and supporting job readiness
Skill in developing and maintaining effective work relationships
Ability to use professional discretion in working with highly confidential proprietary information
Ability to maintain files in an alphabetical and numerical system
Ability to perform consistently in a pleasant, customer-focused manner displaying professional demeanor under stressful situations
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to use correct grammar in the preparation of written correspondence communicating clearly and concisely
Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a strong customer service focus
