Job Description:

Justteachers is seeking a patient, proactive and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Trafford. This full‑time, long‑term position starting in early April involves supporting pupils with Autism and additional SEND needs, helping them access their learning in a positive, structured and meaningful way. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to their educational journey.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide focused support to pupils with Autism, as well as students with additional needs such as sensory processing differences, ADHD, SEMH challenges, cognition and learning needs or other complex profiles
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff to create a supportive and predictable environment where pupils can thrive
  • Build warm, trusting relationships with pupils by understanding their communication styles, motivators and individual needs
  • Promote the school’s inclusive ethos by contributing to a calm, nurturing and structured classroom atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Experience within the last two years supporting children or adults with SEND, Autism or complex needs in a school, residential, PRU or care‑related setting
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the development, wellbeing and educational progress of pupils with Autism
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for working effectively within a professional school environment
  • Patience, empathy and the ability to respond calmly to varied behaviours and emotional needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes, child protection practices and professional boundaries within an educational setting
  • Ability to provide two education‑based references from the past two years
