Job Description

An exceptional Primary School in Barking and Dagenham is on the search for a creative and driven Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP, full time / term time only and help drive the success of students with Autism (ASD). Your duties will include but are not limited to teaching, guiding and supporting 2 children with Autism in KS1, and helping them grow and thrive in the schooling environment. The perfect Autism Support Worker / SEN Teaching Assistant would showcase attention, care and compassion. If you have experience with children aged 2- 7 (EYFS / KS1) with Autism or SEN, we would love to hear from you! This does not need to be direct schooling experience. All transferable skills / experience will be considered. The school takes pride in "togetherness", putting communication and care above all. If chosen, you will be met with all the resources you will need along with inclusion and teamwork. All children can achieve success with the right support. Job Responsibility

  • Teaching, guiding and supporting 2 children with Autism in KS1 and helping them grow and thrive in the schooling environment
  • Liaising with Class Teachers and the SENCO / SENDCO regarding progress of children
  • Provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for children
  • Delivering specialist SEN interventions
  • Liaising with the school's therapists

Requirements

  • Experience of supporting children (4-7) with Autism (ASD) or SEN – Ideal
  • Childcare related experience, ideally with a SEN focus – Ideal
  • You MUST be full of life, creative, have a love for art and a positive personality
  • A highly driven and compassionate individual who will exceed expectations of the role requirements
