Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Hassocks supporting students with Autism. This full-time, term-time-only role involves helping students engage with learning in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment. The school has excellent facilities, including large outdoor spaces, gardening areas, and animals on site, providing a calm and engaging setting for students and staff.

Job Responsibility

  • Support students with Autism in the classroom and around the school
  • Provide individualised support to promote engagement, independence, and learning
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies and interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Experience supporting students with Autism
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Patient, calm, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with students with SEN
  • Must be able to drive
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS
