SEN Teaching Assistant | Specialist Education Support Location: Crawley Pay: £90.00 - £95.00 per day Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term (Term Time Only) Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (approx.) The Opportunity Are you driven by the desire to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for resilient, empathetic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join specialist educational teams across Crawley. This isn't a "fill-in" role; we are looking for individuals who crave stability and want to build deep, meaningful bonds with their pupils. You will be a cornerstone of their development, helping students with complex needs-including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)-to flourish both in and out of the classroom.

Job Responsibility:

  • Dedicated 1:1 Support: Providing the consistency and stability specific pupils need to feel safe and successful
  • EHCP Delivery: Working directly with Education, Health, and Care Plans to meet bespoke learning and developmental milestones
  • Emotional Regulation: Implementing positive behaviour strategies to help students manage their emotions and navigate challenges
  • Social Advocacy: Boosting pupils' independence and communication skills, helping them build confidence in social settings
  • Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborating with Teachers, SENCOs, and external therapists to provide a holistic support network
  • Holistic Care: Assisting with personal care where necessary, always maintaining the dignity and wellbeing of the pupil

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: A solid background in supporting pupils with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD) is essential
  • True Resilience: The ability to remain calm, patient, and nurturing, even during high-pressure moments
  • Commitment: A desire for a long-term, consistent position where you can become a vital part of the school family
  • Communication Skills: The ability to build instant rapport with children, colleagues, and parents
  • Qualifications: Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or significant equivalent experience)
