We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Auditing Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Waterbury, Connecticut. This part-time role involves conducting detailed financial reviews to support Medicaid eligibility processes, requiring advanced Excel expertise and a strong focus on data accuracy. Job Responsibility

  • Perform thorough five-year Medicaid look back reviews by collecting and analyzing financial records, such as bank statements, tax returns, and investment documents
  • Use advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables, conditional formatting, and complex formulas, to organize and reconcile financial data
  • Create and maintain detailed Excel workbooks to document asset tracking, expenditures, and account activity
  • Identify and flag potential issues or irregularities in financial data for attorney review
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to gather missing documents and resolve data discrepancies
  • Prepare clear and concise financial summaries and reports for presentations to attorneys and clients
  • Assist with Medicaid application processes by responding to documentation requests from Medicaid agencies
  • Ensure all financial information is handled confidentially and adheres to privacy regulations
  • Stay informed on Medicaid rules and guidelines, particularly those related to financial eligibility and the look back process

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze large datasets and automate tasks
  • Experience in financial records analysis, bookkeeping, or Medicaid eligibility processes is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
