Job Description:

We are looking for an Auditing Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is based in Portland, Maine, and offers an excellent opportunity to work within the health insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and customer service skills, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process and review financial transactions with precision to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
  • Utilize accounting software systems to manage and track accounts payable and other financial activities
  • Conduct audits to verify the accuracy of data and identify discrepancies within financial records
  • Support cash activity reporting and reconciliation processes to maintain accurate financial documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline administrative workflows and improve customer service operations
  • Prepare and maintain reports, utilizing tools such as Adobe Acrobat for efficient data processing
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing financial data to support business decisions
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to auditing and financial transactions in a thorough manner
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and accessible for internal and external audits

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in administrative or office-based roles, particularly within auditing or financial functions
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems and tools such as Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and data processing techniques
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and resolve issues
  • Prior experience in auditing or cash activity management is highly desirable
  • Health insurance industry experience is a plus but not mandatory
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
