Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Auditing Clerk to join a services team in Houston, Texas. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to build practical accounting experience while supporting hotel audit operations through careful review and reconciliation work. The position offers hands-on exposure to financial records, reporting processes, and data accuracy within a collaborative team environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review hotel audit records to identify discrepancies, confirm accuracy, and support timely financial close activities
  • Perform daily reconciliations by comparing financial data across reports and resolving mismatched entries
  • Enter and update audit-related information in internal systems with a high level of precision and consistency
  • Prepare and maintain audit reports that summarize findings, exceptions, and supporting documentation
  • Investigate variances in financial records and follow established procedures to correct or escalate issues
  • Assist the hotel audit team with routine accounting support tasks tied to record validation and reporting accuracy
  • Organize audit documentation so files are complete, accessible, and ready for internal review when needed

Requirements:

  • Experience with daily reconciliation activities and reviewing financial data for accuracy
  • Familiarity with audit processes, audit documentation, and audit report preparation
  • Strong data entry skills with a consistent focus on accuracy and detail
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, analyze variances, and resolve issues efficiently
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office software used for reporting and reconciliation
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring tasks in a deadline-driven setting
