We are looking for a detail-oriented Auditing and Quality Control Clerk to support audit-related operations in Mechanic Falls, Maine. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can review records carefully, maintain organized documentation, and help ensure compliance with applicable financial and regulatory standards. The role requires strong written communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work accurately in a structured environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Examine financial and operational records to identify discrepancies, missing information, or items that require follow-up
  • Prepare clear audit documentation, summaries, and written findings to support compliance reviews and internal reporting
  • Assist with reviews involving tax-related records and regulated gaming activities while following applicable legal and industry guidelines
  • Maintain organized files, evidence logs, and supporting materials so audit information is complete and readily accessible
  • Communicate with internal teams to gather documentation, clarify exceptions, and help resolve audit questions in a timely manner
  • Track audit tasks, deadlines, and outstanding items to keep reviews moving forward and ensure required deliverables are completed
  • Support compliance verification efforts by comparing records against policies, regulations, and established procedures

Requirements

  • Experience in auditing, accounting support, compliance review, or a related administrative function
  • Working knowledge of tax audit processes and record validation practices
  • Familiarity with gaming law, casino gaming regulations, or other highly regulated environments
  • Strong legal writing or business writing skills with the ability to document findings clearly and accurately
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in reviewing documents, organizing records, and managing multiple priorities effectively

  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) verification audits for both inbound and outbound orders, in the commissary (including cooler/freezer), at the Amtrak railyard/train platform, and on board Amtrak trains, effectively communicate and help resolve all discrepancies identified
  • Ensure that the QA Process VPS Tools and Business Process SOPs are in compliance
  • communicate any deviations immediately to management
  • Assist with problem solving, determining root causes to transactional issues and developing appropriate sustainable solutions
  • May be asked to assist with Centralized Purchasing process as well as executing Warehouse to Warehouse Transfers
