Job Description

We are looking for an Audit Staff Public team member to join a growing team in Torrance, California. This role supports financial statement audits and related assurance work for clients while contributing to accurate reporting, strong compliance, and timely project delivery. The ideal candidate brings public accounting experience, sound knowledge of audit procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively in Japanese when working with clients and internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Execute the day-to-day activities of attestation and non-attestation engagements of various clients
  • Detect and communicate accounting and auditing matters to seniors, managers, and partners
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Intermingle with U.S. and Japanese based clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the team is efficient
  • Work on non-attestation services such as bookkeeping, miscellaneous tax (property tax, sales tax etc.), payroll, and some other consulting services
  • Understand and utilize Audit Methodology

Requirements

  • Japanese language skill is required
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university and eligible to sit for the CPA exam
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to non-attestation services such as bookkeeping
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
