Job Description:

Audit & Risk Recruitment working with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers in the Northwest. With over 200 engaged professionals and a client base spanning a wide range of industries, this firm offers a genuinely people-focused culture and a highly personalised service model. Their independence means they’re agile, adaptable, and deeply invested in both their clients and their team. They’re now looking to bring on an experienced Audit Manager to oversee audit engagements and lead teams from planning to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s already qualified, enjoys managing client relationships, and is ready to play a key role in team development and project delivery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading and managing audit assignments with responsibility for timelines, quality, and client communication
  • Acting as the primary contact for clients, handling queries and maintaining trust
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, reviewing work, and providing feedback
  • Monitoring budgets and billing, ensuring jobs are delivered efficiently
  • Maintaining technical compliance with FRS, IFRS, and auditing standards
  • Liaising with directors and senior managers to support strategic and departmental goals
  • Supporting a positive, collaborative culture and helping resolve team issues as needed

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent) with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience
  • Strong track record in audit and accounts, ideally within a UK practice setting
  • Confident managing client relationships and audit teams
  • Knowledge of key accounting standards (FRS/IFRS) and risk control frameworks
  • Great communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Comfortable using (or learning) tools like CaseWare and CCH
  • Someone who’s proactive, accountable, and collaborative
