ELO CPAs & Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join our growing team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients. You will collaborate with team members to plan and execute audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
Job Responsibility
Assist in planning and performing audit procedures in accordance with applicable auditing standards
Perform audit testing, including walkthroughs, internal control evaluations, and substantive procedures
Prepare and maintain detailed audit workpapers that meet firm and professional standards
Analyze financial data to identify risks, discrepancies, or areas for improvement
Assist in drafting audit reports, management letters, and financial statements
Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve audit-related issues
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a high-performing audit environment
Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry developments
Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field
A master's degree in public accounting is a plus
CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA is highly desirable
1 to 3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field, with a focus on audit services
Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Familiarity with accounting software is required
Experience with Engagement Manager (formally known as AdvancedFlow) is preferred
Technical knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit methodologies
Knowledge in governmental audits is a plus
Adaptability and a commitment to flexibility in a constantly changing professional environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise and impactful feedback to clients and team members
Nice to have
A master's degree in public accounting is a plus
CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA is highly desirable

Knowledge in governmental audits is a plus
