Job Description:

This Top 100 accountancy practice is growing its audit team in Gloucester and is looking to appoint an Audit Assistant Manager or Manager, depending on experience. Whether you're a senior ready to step up or a manager seeking more autonomy, this is your opportunity to lead from the front. You'll work with an industry-diverse portfolio of SMEs, groups, and mid-market businesses, taking responsibility for delivery, quality, and client relationships. With a strong pipeline and leadership support, you'll be stepping into a high-impact role from day one.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients, leading end-to-end engagements
  • Plan, oversee, and finalise audits, including complex assignments
  • Review accounts and support junior team members with technical queries
  • Act as the primary client contact, building long-term trusted relationships
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, both on jobs and in-office
  • Support department-wide planning, resourcing, and quality delivery
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on growth and strategy

Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent)
  • UK audit experience, ideally with SME and mid-market exposure
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP
  • IFRS experience welcome
  • Confident managing teams and client expectations
  • Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on delivery with leadership responsibilities
