On behalf of our client, a premier global financial institution, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audit Analyst to join their team in downtown Toronto. In this role, you will examine and analyze accounting records to determine the financial status of the establishment and prepare comprehensive financial reports concerning operating procedures. As a critical line of defense and analysis, you will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and communicating vital audit insights directly to management and key stakeholders.
Job Responsibility
Collect and analyze financial data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies
Compile detailed, formal reports on audit findings and present asset utilization and audit results directly to management
Recommend strategic changes in operations and financial activities based on audit outcomes
Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending robust controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity
Inspect the day-to-day operations and financials of the organization, reporting any evidence of fraud or operational vulnerability immediately
Requirements
2 to 4 years of dedicated auditing experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a related financial discipline, or equivalent professional education/experience
Demonstrated, deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to seamlessly apply accounting and mathematical principles to daily tasks
Advanced understanding of federal, provincial, and corporate policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting and auditing
Advanced user proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), MS Project, and specialized accounting/auditing software
Advanced verbal and written communication skills, sharp critical thinking, acute attention to detail, and the ability to exercise significant independent judgment while managing your own time
Nice to have
Prior experience with or functional knowledge of RBC financial systems and associated banking procedures
Hold a relevant professional designation: CPA, CA, CMA, or CIA
