Job Description:

Audio Visual Technician III responsible for preparing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment to ensure readiness before each event. Delivers seamless event execution by setting up, operating, and dismantling basic audiovisual equipment accurately and on schedule, in accordance with technical requirements. Works at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman ensuring the 'Gold Standards' of luxury service are delivered graciously and thoughtfully every day.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure readiness before each event
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle basic audiovisual equipment accurately and on schedule
  • Quickly identify and resolve technical issues as they occur to minimize disruptions
  • Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms
  • Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational, repair or clean equipment when necessary
  • Label broken equipment and communicate problems to manager/supervisor
  • Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable
  • Check delivered equipment and room set-up against Banquet Event Order
  • Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment
  • Up-sell different AV services, and monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals
  • Break-down, remove, and secure equipment when not in use
  • Read, understand, and adhere to Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in event technology with expertise in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video
  • Strong knowledge of all basic and specialized audio-visual equipment including staging, lighting, audio and video
  • Strong knowledge of audio-visual equipment including computers, video projectors, screens, audio, video, and lighting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software
  • Strong knowledge about electricity and power distribution
  • Basic knowledge of rigging equipment to include truss, lighting
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance

Nice to have:

  • 4 years of experience in customer service or hospitality
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
