An opportunity has arisen for an Audio Typist/ Admin Support within the Cardiology Department at Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Secretarial staff in providing an efficient and effective typing/clerical service.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a typing service by means of audio/copy typing, ensuring all appropriate investigations are organised and dealt with correctly and within appropriate time span
Carry out clerical tasks including photocopying, distribution of information etc
Assist with any other clerical/reception duties as seen to be necessary by the manager
Requirements:
GCSE English (grade A to C) or equivalent
RSA Stage 2 typing/word processing and audio typing or equivalent
Previous clerical experience
Experience of information systems
Knowledge of confidentiality
Understanding of secretarial/clerical processes
Effective customer relation skills
Computer literate
Ability to work without supervision
Ability to concentrate on tasks despite frequent interruptions and enquiries all of which need to be constantly reprioritised
Effective communication skills
Ability to deal with complaints both face to face and by telephone
Nice to have:
ECDL/BT2 or equivalent
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of hospital patient administration system
