Job Description:

The Audio Processing Editor 1 performs advanced editing and quality control tasks in support of Scripture recording projects. This role uses technologies including AI-assisted tools, and performs tasks such as mastering, transliteration, and Render preparation. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to uphold production standards independently while contributing to the global mission of Faith Comes By Hearing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform corrections, cleanup, and/or assembly of raw audio files, including volume adjustments, removal of extraneous noises, and identification and reconstruction of missing words
  • Adjust spacing and volumes within the mix as needed to ensure cohesive and undistracting output
  • Use visual and audio editing skills to mix and edit voice and music files to a predetermined script using audio editing software (DAW), ensuring the product meets time-sensitive deadlines
  • Utilize new technologies such as AI and custom software or manually match audio with the original text
  • Identify and document audio issues, and review and insert approved alternate lines
  • Willingness to learn and work with new technologies such as AI audio tools for Voice Change, Corrections, Audio cleanup and enhancements, and Audio Proofing (QC) projects
  • Transliterate text when necessary
  • Perform final quality control checks to ensure all chapters are complete and consistent in volume
  • Prepare final mixes for release, ensuring compliance with quality standards for distribution
  • Provide source file delineation for use in Render
  • Create promotional audio clips for language celebration events
  • Report daily task updates in team tracking tools, ensuring project statuses are up-to-date and critical information is accessible to team members

Requirements:

  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Windows, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to follow foreign-language text using phonetic alignment and audio reference
  • Able to identify errors and escalate unclear or complex issues appropriately
  • Demonstrated proficiency with digital audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition)
  • Ability to independently perform complex audio corrections
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and correct audio inconsistencies or script mismatches
  • Strong time management and ability to meet production targets with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to the mission and collaborative team environment

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with audio editing workflows or tools
  • Experience using Adobe Audition or comparable digital audio editing software
  • Multilingual experience
  • Previous experience reviewing and providing feedback on peer audio work
