Midsized law firm is seeking an Attorney to join our Trial & Litigation team in Oakland, California. This role is focused on eminent domain cases, requiring a strong background in valuation analysis, litigation strategies, court filings, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in real estate law and civil litigation, with a proven ability to handle complex cases.
Job Responsibility:
Develop litigation strategies and manage eminent domain cases from inception to resolution
Conduct thorough valuation analyses and prepare comprehensive case arguments
Draft and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents to support case proceedings
Manage discovery processes, including depositions and evidence review
Represent clients in court hearings and trials, ensuring effective advocacy
Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies and optimize outcomes
Stay updated on laws and regulations related to eminent domain and real estate litigation
Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process
Prepare and deliver high-quality writing samples as required for case documentation
Ensure compliance with all procedural and ethical standards in litigation practice
Requirements:
Possess 3+ years of experience in litigation, specifically eminent domain, real estate, or public entity land acquisition
Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation cases and develop effective strategies
Licensed attorney with expertise in civil litigation and real estate law
Proficient in drafting motions, briefs, and other court documents
Skilled in conducting depositions and managing discovery processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality legal documents
Familiarity with relevant legal regulations and procedural requirements
