We are looking for a dedicated Attorney to join a boutique litigation practice in McKinney, Texas. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the managing attorney, gaining hands-on experience across various stages of litigation. The firm handles a diverse range of cases including personal injury, probate disputes, business litigation, and construction defect matters, providing a dynamic and engaging environment for career growth.
Job Responsibility:
Manage litigation cases independently from initiation to resolution
Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests
Take and defend depositions with confidence and attention to detail
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
Collaborate closely with the managing attorney to develop case strategies
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
Partner with legal assistants to ensure timely filings and adherence to deadlines
Balance a diverse caseload across plaintiff-side and defense-side litigation
Regularly attend court proceedings to build courtroom expertise
Contribute to the development and refinement of firm practices and procedures
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing
A minimum of 3 years of experience managing litigation cases
Proficiency in legal research and exceptional writing skills
Experience handling depositions and mediations
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, boutique firm environment
Familiarity with both plaintiff and defense-side litigation
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing case deadlines
Federal court admission (Eastern and Northern District of Texas, as well as Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals)
