Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a full-time Attorney to join our client's thriving Labor and Employment practice group in Park Ridge, Illinois. This Attorney will be heavily involved in handling employment law and commercial litigation matters. The role entails developing and counseling on employment-related agreements, policies, and employee handbooks, as well as interacting with various departments to provide comprehensive legal services to clients with diverse needs.

Job Responsibility:

Develop employment-related agreements, policies, and employee handbooks
Counsel on a broad range of employment concerns including employee relations issues such as discipline and termination, accommodation requests, leaves of absence, and conducting workplace investigations
Interact with other practice groups within the organization to provide comprehensive legal services to clients with diverse needs
Execute all phases of litigation in federal and state courts handling employment law cases including discovery, interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, pleadings, motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, visiting dispute sites, and attending court appearances, pre-trial matters, trial, and appeals
Conduct legal research and analysis to provide innovative solutions to complex legal issues
Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, networking events, industry conferences, and other targeted marketing efforts to expand the client base and cultivate long-term relationships

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Attorney/Lawyer
Proficiency in Employment Law
Experience in creating and revising Employee Handbooks
Familiarity with HR Compliance matters
Strong knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws)
Experience in anti-harassment and other employment training
Experience with the investigation, management, and discovery of large collections of documents and data files
