We are looking for a skilled Attorney to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, California. Job Responsibility:
Manage all aspects of asbestos litigation cases, including handling preferential cases from inception through trial
Conduct discovery processes, including depositions, and draft motions and pleadings
Represent clients during court appearances and effectively communicate with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
Oversee general liability cases such as traffic, premises, and construction-related matters, managing them from start to finish
Prepare for and participate in trials, ensuring thorough case preparation and strategy development
Maintain accurate timekeeping and billing records using Aderant and iTimekeep systems
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in firm-wide events to foster a collegial and community-driven work environment
Meet billable hour requirements of 1900 hours annually while delivering high-quality legal services
Utilize firm resources and mentorship programs to continuously develop skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Must hold a valid license to practice law and be in good standing
Ideally 5 years of experience in civil litigation, but candidates with 3+ years of experience in civil defense will be considered
Proven ability to draft motions, pleadings, and briefing documents with precision and clarity
Demonstrated expertise in conducting discovery processes, including depositions
Strong courtroom experience, including trial preparation and appearances
Proficiency in legal timekeeping and billing systems such as Aderant and iTimekeep
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while meeting deadlines and billable hour requirements
