Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with a highly regarded litigation law firm in the Greater Seattle Area who is looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer. This is a Contract position suited for a licensed attorney who can step into active matters quickly, produce strong written work, and manage case activity with limited ramp-up time. The role offers a hybrid schedule after an initial onsite onboarding period and focuses on insurance-related disputes, civil litigation, and day-to-day case development under the guidance of a supervising attorney.

Job Responsibility

  • Handle a portfolio of active litigation matters, moving each case forward through strategic planning, analysis, and timely follow-up.
  • Prepare and file substantive legal documents, including motions, briefs, answers, and other pleadings required throughout the life of a case.
  • Manage written discovery and related responses, while organizing facts and evidence to strengthen case strategy.
  • Conduct legal research on litigation issues, insurance coverage questions, and jurisdiction-specific matters to support case recommendations.
  • Draft coverage evaluations and opinion letters involving areas such as property, employment, and automobile-related claims.
  • Assist with deposition preparation, witness readiness, and trial support activities to ensure matters are thoroughly developed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a WA Barred Attorney with litigation experience (experience in insurance defense or insurance coverage matters is highly valued.)
  • Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials in an active litigation environment.
