Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is ideal for a litigation specialist who can independently manage civil matters from initial case assessment through resolution while also contributing to the continued expansion of the practice. The position offers the opportunity to help establish and grow a strong local office presence with the support of firm resources and legal colleagues.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage civil litigation matters from initial intake and case evaluation through settlement or trial preparation
  • Prepare persuasive motions, legal briefs, pleadings, and other court filings in a timely and strategic manner
  • Lead discovery efforts, including drafting written discovery, reviewing responses, and developing case strategy based on the factual record
  • Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, mediations, and other litigation-related proceedings
  • Build and strengthen a book of business by cultivating client relationships and supporting business development efforts in the local market
  • Collaborate with attorneys and internal support resources to expand the practice and respond to increasing caseload demands
  • Handle matters involving real estate disputes and construction-related claims when applicable
  • Maintain ownership of case progress with limited day-to-day supervision while ensuring high-quality client service

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law and ability to work as an Attorney/Lawyer in Hawaii
  • At least 5 years of experience handling civil litigation matters
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from opening through advanced stages of litigation
  • Strong drafting skills with experience preparing motions, briefs, pleadings, and related legal documents
  • Hands-on experience with discovery processes, including written discovery and case development

Nice to have

  • Background in real estate litigation or construction litigation is preferred
  • Trial experience is helpful, though not required
  • Interest in business development and growing a client base in the Honolulu, Hawaii market
