Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role offers the opportunity to work on both banking and finance transactions as well as litigation matters, providing comprehensive legal support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial lending, loan workouts, and litigation processes, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional legal counsel.

Job Responsibility

  • Represent lenders, borrowers, and financial institutions in complex commercial lending transactions and loan restructuring efforts
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including loan agreements, security instruments, and credit facility contracts
  • Conduct in-depth due diligence by examining corporate records, title searches, and lien documentation
  • Facilitate the structuring and closing of financing deals while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Stay informed on federal and state banking regulations to ensure adherence during transactions
  • Handle all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and preparing motions for disputes involving insurance coverage, construction, and commercial matters
  • Conduct thorough legal research to draft memoranda, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
  • Manage document review processes, prepare for depositions, and develop strategic approaches for cases
  • Represent clients during court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitration sessions
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to create effective litigation strategies tailored to each case

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Maryland
  • Some experience in commercial lending and loan workout transactions preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in litigation processes, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and team collaboration
