Attorney/Lawyer

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial contracts, supplier arrangements, service terms, confidentiality agreements, amendments, and customer documents
• Provide counsel on applicable legal and regulatory obligations at the federal, state, and local levels, with attention to consumer protection, energy-related rules, privacy considerations, licensing, and collections activities
• Partner with operational teams to assess legal exposure connected to solar and distributed energy assets and recommend measures that reduce risk
• Oversee disputes and litigation matters by coordinating with outside counsel, shaping legal strategy, and advising internal stakeholders on case developments
• Support billing, collections, and customer support functions by helping establish legally sound processes, communications, and documentation
• Advise senior leaders on governance topics, internal policies, and control frameworks that strengthen compliance and business accountability
• Track changes in laws and regulations affecting renewable energy, asset management, and related financial or consumer-facing activities, and communicate business impact
• Assist with audits, internal reviews, compliance projects, executive reporting, and board-facing materials as needed
• Collaborate with finance, operations, compliance, and investor-facing teams to support business initiatives requiring legal input

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with Texas strongly preferred
• At least 5 years of legal experience in-house or in a practice area such as commercial law, energy, regulatory matters, finance, real estate, or asset management
• Demonstrated ability to draft, analyze, and negotiate contracts with a strong attention to legal and business risk
• Experience advising on regulatory compliance and operational legal matters in a fast-moving environment
• Background in litigation support, including motion practice, briefing, discovery, or coordination with external counsel
• Knowledge of renewable energy, clean energy, solar operations, utilities, infrastructure, or financial services is preferred
• Strong communication skills and sound judgment, with the ability to provide practical guidance to both legal and non-legal stakeholders
