We are looking for a skilled and motivated attorney to join a well-established, multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal practice in Columbia, South Carolina, while handling diverse and challenging cases. Job Responsibility:
Represent clients in real estate, civil litigation, and creditors' rights matters, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated
Draft and review legal documents, including motions and briefs, while managing discovery processes
Conduct court appearances and travel as required to various locations within the New York jurisdiction
Utilize case management and reporting software to oversee assigned matters and maintain accurate records
Provide legal counsel on title and lien priority, title claims, foreclosure, eviction, and creditors' rights practices
Collaborate with clients to develop proactive solutions and ensure superior client communication
Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive analyses to support litigation strategies
Work closely with colleagues in a team-oriented environment to achieve client objectives
Stay informed on relevant legal developments and implement best practices in litigation
Manage deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient case handling
Requirements:
Active membership and good standing with the New York State Bar
additional bar licenses are a plus
Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate law, civil litigation, or creditors' rights practices
Proficiency in using case management software and a solid foundation in civil procedure and motions practice
Thorough understanding of title and lien priority, foreclosure, eviction, and creditors' rights
Availability to travel and attend court proceedings as necessary
Strong commitment to client care and proactive communication
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
