We are looking for a motivated Attorney/Lawyer to join a legal team in California. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that is well suited for a newly licensed attorney or an early-career legal team member who is eager to build experience in asbestos-related litigation and broader civil litigation matters. Job Responsibility
Prepare motions, pleadings, and other legal filings to support ongoing litigation matters
Conduct legal research and develop written arguments for briefs, memoranda, and case strategy materials
Assist with discovery activities, including reviewing documents, drafting responses, and organizing case evidence
Support attorneys in managing asbestos litigation matters from initial case development through resolution
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal team members regarding case updates and documentation needs
Participate in case assessments, fact analysis, and development of litigation strategy
Help maintain accurate case files, deadlines, and court-related documentation to ensure timely handling of matters
Requirements
Active license to practice law and good standing with the applicable state bar
Academic or demonstrated interest in asbestos litigation and related civil litigation matters
Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal documentation
Ability to draft motions, briefs, and other written legal materials with accuracy and clarity
Experience with or exposure to discovery processes, including document review and response preparation
Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
