Attorney - Account Manager

• Review loss notices, confirm and interpret policy coverages, establish appropriate reserves, and investigate claims involving primary, excess, and umbrella coverages
• Coordinate with the reinsurance department to provide updates on accounts, submit notices, and address inquiries from reinsurers
• Assign and oversee the work of defense and coverage counsel, manage expert witnesses, and collaborate with peer carriers to design and implement defense strategies and indemnity contracts
• Evaluate liability and damages, participate in settlement negotiations, and ensure proper allocation of indemnity and expenses across applicable coverage years
• Ensure accurate setup, exposure evaluation, reserving, and general handling of claim files in compliance with company policies
• Develop and implement effective claim handling strategies, including defense coordination, expense management, and procedural improvements
• Maintain accurate and complete information within the claim management system to ensure compliance and efficiency

• A J.D. degree and licensed in MA
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience handling general toxic tort claims
• Prior exposure to asbestos-related claims is highly desired
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet-based applications
• Industry certifications or designations, such as CPCU or similar, are considered a plus
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex claims effectively
