Our client, a large retailer, is looking to hire an Atlassian Automation & Rovo Consultant for a 3-month remote contract working in support of the corporate support group.
Job Responsibility:
Designing, building, and continuously improving Jira Service Management (JSM) and Jira Software request experiences
Focus on workflow automation, request intake enablement, and AI agent development using Atlassian Rovo
Partnering with platform and operational stakeholders to deliver scalable, developer friendly service experiences that reduce manual effort and improve request fulfillment outcomes
Design and build Jira Service Management and Jira Software forms, request types, and portal intake experiences aligned to business needs
Standardize field patterns and validation approaches to improve data quality and reduce rework
Implement and maintain Atlassian Automation rules to support end to end request fulfillment, routing, approvals, notifications, and integrations
Troubleshoot automation execution and optimize conditions, branching logic, and smart values to improve reliability
Develop and configure Atlassian Rovo agents to support self-service experiences, knowledge retrieval, and assisted fulfillment patterns
Configure knowledge sources and intents, and iterate based on feedback and usage
Requirements:
Must have experience building Atlassian Rovo agents (or equivalent Atlassian AI agent capabilities), including intent design, knowledge source configuration, and iterative tuning
3+ years of experience working in the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira Software and/or Jira Service Management)
Hands on experience building and maintaining Atlassian Automation rules for operational workflows (approvals, routing, notifications, and fulfillment logic)
Strong experience designing Jira/JSM forms and request experiences, including custom fields, validation patterns, and user-friendly intake flows
Experience configuring workflows, statuses, transitions, SLAs, queues, request types, and portal experiences in JSM
Working knowledge of Jira administration concepts (schemes, permissions, roles, groups, project settings) sufficient to deliver solutions with minimal supervision
Ability to troubleshoot complex automation behavior and identify root causes (conditions, branching logic, smart values, permissions, field context issues)
Nice to have:
Experience integrating Jira/JSM with external systems (webhooks, APIs, email handlers, Atlassian Marketplace apps, or internal tooling)
Experience designing standardized patterns for forms and automation to enable reuse across multiple teams/projects
Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge management tied to service experiences
