Job Description:

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the seasonal Athletics Event Worker position. This seasonal position (August - June) will assist game day management staff in various capacities such as operating the penalty box, helping with scoreboard operations, and other tasks as assigned.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist game day management staff in various capacities
  • Assist with facility setup and breakdown for various sports throughout the academic year
  • During events, interact with and work alongside Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff
  • In-game responsibilities include ball person for outdoor sports, floor mop during basketball games, penalty box operator during hockey, and assisting with the distribution of judge scores during gymnastics events

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules
  • Must be able to observe and react quickly to events on the field/court/athletic venue
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Successful completion of a background check and education verification
