BB&N is seeking a full-time, ten-month Athletics Associate and Varsity Coach to join the Athletics team beginning on August 24th, 2026. The Athletic Associate will work the duration of the academic year and any additional dates assigned by the Director of Athletics. In addition to the specified work in Athletic Operations, the Athletic Associate is expected to contribute to the overall team effort, including assisting with various duties and functions when needed, including, but not limited to, site supervision, game day management, and covering for absent coaches. This position also coaches three seasons, one of which is at the Varsity level.
Job Responsibility
Schedule, manage, and oversee Athletic Transportation
Manage and oversee off-campus facility rentals for BB&N teams
Support the Operations Team with practice scheduling, game confirmations, and schedule communication
Coach three seasons including one as a head coach at the Varsity level
Assist the Equipment Manager with locker room distribution, updating inventory, and distributing uniforms
Support the Operations Team with referee assignments and payment
Populate the BB&N Athletics website with game and practice schedules
Ensure all games are properly staffed with adult game clock operators and student managers as needed
Game site supervisor (clock set up, field set up, greet visiting team, manage fans)
Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
At least 3 years of athletics administration or coaching experience, preferably in secondary independent schools
Bachelor's degree required
health education experience preferred
ability to coach a Varsity sport
knowledge of athletic administration and related regulations, policies, and procedures
strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people
strong organizational skills with multi-tasking capability to manage multiple projects to deadline
excellent written and oral communication skills and good listening skills
flexibility to work long hours when necessary including weekends and evenings
initiative and follow-through
ability and desire to become involved in the life of the school
